A national report released yesterday documents the seriously troubling results of the graduation rates across the country. Milwaukee Public Schools are at 46% with Detroit coming in last at 24.9% of high school students graduating on time. Read the report here.

Also in Detroit multiple adults were charged with felonies related to running a brothel involving underage teens.

In Hartford, Connecticut a woman in her 20’s received almost 4 years in federal prison for trafficking minors and young women.

An veteran police officer is charged with enticing a child into prostitution in Mobile, Alabama.

MPS graduation rate is 46%, study says (Wisconsin) Wednesday, April 2, 2008 Milwaukee Public Schools was one of 17 urban districts listed with a graduation rate below 50% in a report released Tuesday by America’s Promise Alliance…put MPS in 38th place among the 50 largest districts in the nation. Detroit was at the bottom of the list with a graduation rate of 24.9%, with Indianapolis, Cleveland and Baltimore coming in between 30% and 40%.

Cops: Detroit brothel had $10 cover for girls as young as 15 (Michigan) Wednesday, April 2, 2008 Wayne County prosecutors have charged two men and a woman with multiple felonies on allegations they ran a house of prostitution that involved girls as young as 15. Prosecutors say Deleia Skelton, 29, of Detroit is the “madam” of the house in the 13300 block of Hubbel on Detroit’s west side. She faces seven charges of child sexually abusive activity — one charge for each of the seven girls younger than 18 found at the house at Saturday’s raid.

Officer accused of sexual offenses (Alabama)Tuesday, April 1, 2008 A veteran officer of the Mobile County Court Police was arrested Sunday in Mobile and charged with enticing a child and soliciting prostitution, according to a judge who oversees the police unit…identified as Terry DeWayne Johnson.
