In this week’s news:
A Seattle man is charged with raping and pimping out a 12 year old who he met walking down the street.
Outside of San Diego a man is on trial for trying to force 4 teenage girls into prostitution. They are testifying about what happened and how they escaped by finding the right opportunity to get away.
In Michigan, police developed an investigation and arrested a couple who coerced a 16 year old girl into having sex for money after the youth left and went to the police station with her mom to tell what happened to her.
In Buffalo NY, a DMV worker is charged with a felony for helping youth under 21 get falsified identification cards. It’s alleged that youth connected to a local escort service wanted them to get work at a strip club or casino.
And in Winnipeg, the inquest report into Tracia Owens’ suicide has many recommendations to better help youth in the sex trade in Manitoba. The report itself isn’t online yet but you can ask for a copy here.

Lastly, I’m dismayed hear about arrests of syringe exchange health workers in San Antonio, Texas. A lot of people are scared by harm reduction and some basic life saving practices like needle exchanges are illegal in many parts of the country. Read up about the arrest here.
