New report Communities Engaged in Resisting Violence

Posted on Dec 11, 2007 by Claudine in social justice organizing, violence, youth organizing | 0 Comments

Take a look at an amazing new report out of Chicago by Women and Girls Collective Action Network. The beautiful new website just came out too. Women and Girls CAN is:

a center for consciousness-raising, training, dialogue and action around issues that matter to women and girls. We strengthen connections across communities to promote collective action. We provide resources and support to create safe spaces for girls and women to develop as leaders, learn from each other, and take action to promote social justice.

The report Communities Engaged in Resisting Violence is about community-based efforts in Chicago to organize and resist violence against women in powerful new ways. It talks about initiatives to develop community accountability, work together in solidarity, really go deep in talking with each other as activists and allies and strategize an end to violence against women and all the systems that support it.
