On this week’s news links of note…
Lots of quick action in Philadelphia and supporters around the globe didn’t result in bouncing a sitting judge who refused to see how a young women in the sex trade could be raped. But the discussion and public challenge she received is a strong statement.
In the New York Times yesterday, two important articles to note - one on researchers looking into hip hop as a way to better positively communicate with youth and another talking up the efforts of one amazing organization HOTGIRLS in Atlanta where girls re-write lyrics and contribute their skills to improve the health of black young women and girls.

Also this week a report on a southern Florida program with 42 new transitional living housing beds for foster care youth who’ve aged out of the system and are at risk of being homeless. And, in Chicago, a report detailing the struggles of trans youth to find housing options.
