I’m shocked to see a 14 year old girl’s picture in the news report on her trial for murder. But she was charged as an adult at first, so there she is looking back from desk with her attorney.

Sometimes the references for youth trading sex for money are hidden and you have to look more closely. In describing this girl’s life so far in the effort to get her trial switched to juvenile court, it comes out.

“She had sexual relations at age 10 or 11 to subsidize her drug and alcohol use” according to the judge who referenced a report requested by the court. Kind of amazing the language people will use to avoid saying that a 10 year old was raped.

I think it’s assured now that this guy will be in prison for a while given that he’s decided to represent himself at his sentencing hearing. The Urbana, Illinois man was convicted of all sorts of charges stemming from weapons charges and making child pornography. If you remember his defense was ‘I didn’t realize the video camera was on.’ And he has unresolved charges of juvenile pimping and sexual assault.

In another follow-up to a news item I linked to previously, a Michigan mother who offered her 7 year old daughter for sex to adult men in exchange for money pleaded no contest and will be sentenced soon.

MySpace is getting some attention again with a girl who ran away to meet a man she met online only to be pimped out by him.

A significant federal case of international trafficking has resulted in 9 arrests in California.
